Built on a series of lies, mistruths and falsehoods, fur ban legislations are popping up across the country. Armed with truth, sustainability and science in their corner, the fur industry is fighting back HARD and fast! So, behind all the noise and grotesque imagery paraded out by animal extremists groups, “What do people really think about the proposed CA fur ban?”
The concept of fashion at its core is a celebration of individual creativity, passion and vision. With that as the North Star, any proposed ban on fur is an affront to creativity itself. There is strong demand for real fur as evidenced by the fact that the industry is thriving globally. It creates thousands jobs and billions in tax revenue around the world. Fur is also one of the nation’s most highly regulated and environmentally sustainable industries. Faux fur is made from plastics and one of the least environmentally friendly fashion products on the market today. As fashions change, a fur garment can be restyled and can last for up to 30 years. Ultimately, when the fur garment is at the end of its life cycle, it can be discarded and will decompose naturally. In a truly free society, consumers should have the ability to choose how to spend their dollars, so why would a liberal state like California aim to impose such restraints through a CA fur ban?
