Ferragamo Fall/Winter 2024 at Milan Fashion Week

The collection for Fall/Winter 2024 drew inspiration from the Roaring 1920s, a time synonymous with self-expression and celebration of freedom through clothing. “The 1920s used clothing as a way to celebrate freedom. And that expression of freedom is something which resonates with me, with my heritage, and with Ferragamo,” Maximilian Davis said in his statement. The runway showcased capes as a nod to individuals who concealed their avant-garde looks on their way to speakeasies, adding a touch of historical intrigue to the collection’s modern aesthetic.

Bally Fall/Winter 2024 at Milan Fashion Week

Bally’s show, entitled “Der Wanderer,” delved into Swiss folklore and Alpine mysticism. It paid homage  to ancient traditions where men from mountain villages crafted costumes from shaggy furs, moss, ivy and twigs. These tales were reflected in the collection with fur-trimmed dresses and vests gracing the runway, adding a rustic touch to the modern designs.

Set in one of the tunnels beneath Milan’s Stazione Centrale, the show’s ambiance resembled a cave. Fur took center stage, adorning oversized coats, shoulder bags and pelt-like hats. The fur coats were meticulously hand-painted in monochrome styles, blending various shades of individual colors to achieve a unique and spiky finish.
