The Critic’s Choice Awards 2016 Red Carpet… We’re Judging

‘Tis the season….for the red carpet rush of excitement as the Award Shows season begins.  First off the starting block, Sunday night’s Critic’s Choice Awards and all eyes were on the (this time) blue carpet to see who was wearing what.  While some look to the Critic’s Choice Awards as an indicator of the direction the Oscars will take, we look to the trends that will be set and the fashion hits and misses…. and trust us, we’re judging!

Critic’s Choice Awards Winning Color.. Fade to BLACK

The clear winner of the evening was the color black.  Demure, diva-ish and divine; all iterations of the little black dress, and suit, came out on top at the Critic’s Choice Awards. No critique here, when in doubt, black it out!

Actress Emma Stone attends The 22nd Annual Critics' Choice Awards

Emma Stone in a peek-a-boo cut out Roland Mouret gown struck the right balance between sexy and edgy

Emmy Rossum 22nd Annual Critics' Choice Awards

Emmy Rossum plunged to great depths, in Giorgio Armani, at the Critic’s Choice Awards and came up smelling like roses

Actress Evan Rachel Wood attends The 22nd Annual Critics' Choice Awards

Evan Rachel Wood in a black Altuzarra suit was a pillar of how you do gender neutral dressing without coming off too costumey. Bravo

Kate Beckinsale attends The 22nd Annual Critics' Choice Awards

Kate Beckinsale had one enchanting evening. The actress resembled a walking  firefly display on a hot summer’s night in a see-through Reem Acra gown at the Critic’s Choice Awards

Kerry Washington attends The 22nd Annual Critics' Choice Awards

This cute little black Elie Saab cocktail dress playfully hid Kerry Washington’s growing baby bump beautifully. Too bad her hair looks like she was in the back of her limo tousling with her other child.

Actress Naomie Harris attends The 22nd Annual Critics' Choice Awards

Naomie Harris at the Critics’ Choice Awards in a simple, yet elegant Stella McCartney dress

Actress Nia Long attends The 22nd Annual Critics' Choice Awards

We love you long time! Actress Nia Long wears the hell out of her Shoshanna gown

Actress Nicole Kidman attends The 22nd Annual Critics' Choice Awards

H-E-L-L-O Nicole Kidman! True to her brand identity, the sultry actress showed up in a stunning Brandon Maxwell gown with sharp edges of sex appeal

Sarah Hyland arrives at the 22nd annual Critics' Choice Awards

Sarah Hyland in a somewhat shapeless Vera Wang Collection gown was borderline for us  at this year’s Critic’s Choice Awards. Such a small frame should be celebrated not bubbled wrapped

Moody Blues at the Critic’s Choice Awards

Judith Light 22nd Annual Critics' Choice Awards

Judith Light wore a very “heavy” looking navy blue sequined gown fabulously! Angela can do anything in our books

Actress Jessica Biel attends The 22nd Annual Critics' Choice Awards

Jessica Biel in a strategically striped blue-toned Elie Saab gown evoked much emotion for us

Actress Mandy Moore attends The 22nd Annual Critics' Choice Awards

Actress Mandy Moore gave us “more” than we’ve ever seen from her before! She brought the heat in an anything but simple midnight blue Solace London gown

Actress Viola Davis attends The 22nd Annual Critics' Choice Awards

Viola Davis was as refreshing as a cool drink of crystal clear blue water in her Michael Kors Collection gown. A home-run look for the actress

Lacy & Racy at the Critic’s Choice Awards

Michelle Monaghan attends The 22nd Annual Critics' Choice Awards

Actress Michelle Monaghan in Monique Lhuillier looked like a naughty version of Mary Poppins

Actress Tracee Ellis Ross attends The 22nd Annual Critics' Choice Awards

Actress Tracee Ellis Ross looked delicious in Creamsicle colored Zuhair Murad

Busy Philipps arrives at the 22nd annual Critics' Choice Awards

Busy Philipps was one hot tamale in her stunning red Martha Medeiros lace gown

Lily Collins attends The 22nd Annual Critics' Choice Awards

A beautiful nymph. Lily Collins was angelically divine in her majestic lace Elie Saab gown

All the Critics Agree… Epic Fails

Actress Chrissy Metz attends The 22nd Annual Critics' Choice Awards

This would not be us! Actress Chrissy Metz , from the breakout hit “THIS IS US” on NBC, obviously got the memo that it was Christmas time. Not a very flattering look for the actress who we’ve seen look much, much better. Note to stylist…. you are FIRED!

Sarah Paulson attends The 22nd Annual Critics' Choice Awards

We are building a case against Sarah Paulson for wearing this very unflattering Vera Wang Collection space-age suit

Actress Amanda Peet attends The 22nd Annual Critics' Choice Awards

Actress Amanda Peet missed the mark terribly in what we think is an ink blot test dress which makes us all sorts of crazy

Actress Gillian Jacobs attends The 22nd Annual Critics' Choice Awards

Gillian Jacobs Delpozo dress was anything but a bed of roses

Janelle Monae 22nd Annual Critics' Choice Awards

We really want to like this hounds-tooth gown singer Janelle Monae is wearing, but it was just too overpowering and difficult on the eyes even though the silhouette itself is definitely hitting the right note

Hang on tight FurInsiders we’re just getting started and so are the memorable red carpet looks we love to hate!  For those who are following the race to the Oscars here’s the official list of the evening’s winners and losers…..
