Pamella Roland Fall 2013 showed a definite departure from the designer’s previous two seasons. The mood was much darker this time, as was the color palette of black, midnight blue and plum. The delivery was much more dramatic, if not slightly Gothic.
Pamella Roland credited the St. Petersburg Winter Palace for the richness of the material and history, but what might explain the Vamp and glam factor? A night stroll around the palace grounds, perhaps? Regardless, historical nods were present, and looked ever so chic.
Pamella Roland Fall 2013: Luxe for luxe-sake
She introduced shorter looks, rich textiles and a bit of a rocker vibe. From a leather pant and lace top combo to Pony skin with embroidered lace cutouts, the selection was luxe for luxe sake. Her photo-print satin pieces should be a big retail success. Not only did they look beautiful, their creative aesthetic fits the Pamella Roland vocabulary like a glove.
Ms. Roland not only introduced a chinchilla handbag, she took fur to a whole new level – especially when bringing drama in the form of oversized lamb collars and fluffy shearlings.
