What a difference a season makes! With Helen Yarmak, one never knows what to expect other than fresh, modern and rather extraordinary fur looks. Ms. Yarmak is an original throughout.
Her Russian ancestry always brings her back to the opulent Romanoff dynasty and its taste for Barguzine sable. Sable is her calling card – one she skillfully reworks season after season. For Fall 2013-Winter 2014, she willfully edited herself and brought us, Royal Spirit, a more minimalist affair that read strong and impactful. The clean, contemporary lines, easy wearability and versatility of this collection make it perfectly suited to New York’s fast-paced urban lifestyle.
The simplicity of the line-up was cool, sophisticated and modern….yet steeped in luxury. With innovative silhouettes and creative adaptations of the world’s most luxurious fur, Ms. Yarmak showed just how a master works.
The selection ranged in formality from a sporty, chic duffle coat with an oversized hood in beige mink to a teal lamb coat with detachable collar to a sleek, tailored silver kidskin tuxedo coat. But as always, her sable creations stole the show for their sumptuous beauty, this season in sportier lengths to make it effortless for her clients to get get in and out of their limos or low-slung Ferraris.
