Fashion Week isn’t Fashion Week without Zang Toi. He’s been around for 20 years now, still has the loyalty of his chic ladies behind him, and in shocking fashion news still owns his name and company. Go Zang!

He does stir-up the pot occasionally with collections that are often more gala-ready than directional, which magazine editors would prefer. But, why change something that is working quite well for him. His clients are not complaining and are looking great in the process.

Zang Toi loves his ladies sharp and glossy… sharp in structured tailored suits and glossy in statement ball gowns. That said, he serves up a full formal wardrobe season after season. That’s his way, a little more couture than commercial… he’s known for changing his designs a bit to fit the client’s needs.

There is something Old Hollywood about his taste. The sharpness of the cuts and the graphic quality of his embroideries read as well in person as on celluloid… or cell-phone. He always accents jackets and coats with fox, his go-to fur, and always has one or two male models along with his girls on the runway, which feels a little like a patrician family affair.

Zang Toi may not be a household name like others, but he is certainly worth looking into.
