A complete 360 could simply describe what has happened at St. John (VIDEO HERE). The label is embracing a new lease on life, one that isn’t going unnoticed. This new St. John is a wonderful sportswear medley of stylish separates defying the generational divide.

From flowy wide pants kicking with flair to slightly oversized sweaters draped sensually on the shoulders, the St. John woman is definitely making her mark. The look carries a somewhat 1930s Hollywood vibe reflecting a time when actresses began to openly borrow from their male counterparts’ wardrobe while still ‘rocking’ feminine hairdos and full-length fur coats.

Katharine Hepburn wearing a mink coat over men's style trousers (1930s)

If Katharine Hepburn were around, she would be all over this collection. But the muse in this case is the one and only Loulou de la Falaise, whose personal style helped cement the 1970s – itself a decade that sampled more than a few past trends.

The touches of stencil leopard liven the somewhat monochromatic line-up, as do the rust toned rinsed fur pieces. The fur knit sweaters could easily become a new St. John classic, as could the chic outerwear looks with fur trims crowning the collars. This collection is a winning line-up on many levels.

We can’t wait to see what Spring-Summer has in store!
