Roberto Cavalli isn’t known to be a wallflower, nor does he cater to any for that matter. The Roberto Cavalli look artfully blends extravagance and bravado. Yet, as loud as it can ring, Cavalli does it within well-established boundaries.

For the past few years, Cavalli’s atelier has proven they can compete with the best of them in craftsmanship and significant experimentation. The label defies conventions every chance it gets. This time they effectively debunked long held rules about how fur is used in fashion, presenting extraordinary looks with fur integrated into design as we have never seen it before.
If this collection proves anything, it is that Roberto Cavalli is truly one of the great masters of his craft. This collection reads a little less Rock ‘n’ Roll than in past collections and feels more dark Belle époque… if not a little Symbolist.
With Fall 2013-Winter 2014, he continued the plumage idea (remember his griffon-like coats of fur and feathers?), but this time using various fur types dyed in different hues. The effect was stupendous and the technique is an impressive homage to Italian craftsmanship.
For doubters out there, its high-time you gave Cavalli another look!
