When I’m in the mood for an old film, I usually call my friend Jennifer for suggestions. She rarely disappoints and since she knows I’m a fashion buff she comes up with gems. Her latest find is Lucy Gallant, a 1955 film with Jane Wyman as “the sophisticated Easterner” who ends up in a small Texas town and dazzles the locals with her Parisian clothes and accessories.
Our little Lucy knows that the right accessory can make or break a look.
Her much admired attire: a mink purse! A beautiful oversize brown mink clutch to be precise; one that matches her small mink hat.
If you look around inside designer boutiques, department stores and some vintage shops this season you will see that fur purses are making a comeback.
Derek Lam brought this take on the clutch –a portfolio clutch in suede and fox.
Whereas Izaac Mizrahi, revamped the backpack in red fox.
For the more classic-minded, check out Ralp Lauren’s oversized leopard printed rabbit satchel.
Which one would you pick and what would you wear it with?
