New Year’s Eve is considered by many to be the party night of all nights. But not all of us will be lucky enough to snag a babysitter so we can make it to that big celebration. Or, others may simply opt for a more quiet celebration at home with family and a few friends. We playfully label this group “New Year’s Introverts,” but we caution that however and wherever they choose to celebrate, the fashion police are watching!
Whether your celebrate in pj’s or elect to get a bit dressed up, you can still be comfortably stylish, or dapper, while keeping the home-fronts warm.

Staying home for New Year's doesn't mean you have to succumb to the Snuggie

Whether you have a game of Scrabble on the books, or have vowed to break out the karaoke machine to stretch your vocal cords, fashion rule # 1 is that you must look cute, or cool doing it. The most common go-to lounge outfit for most people, for obvious reasons, is well worn sweats and slippers. Even if your goal is “vegetative” comfort, there is a stylish app for that. Top the comfy, cozies off, perhaps, with a knit fur throw. Or, try a unique, but oh so chic fur trim sweater. Paired with slacks, this look says “I’m warm and ready for anything…bring on the New Year.”

If you must reach for a lounge suit, a silk cashmere blend can add a more sophisticated and polished feel to your attire. This stylish sweats option is perfect for greeting those surprise guests that might show up on your doorstep.

Even though your destination might not call for fancy stilettos, let’s not forget about your feet. Slippers are not just foot coverings anymore. More and more designer brands are making relaxing footwear a fashionable priority; and so should you.

Let’s face it, it’s always hardest to fight off the urge to be a “schlub” if your New Year’s plans won’t take you more than 30 yards from your bed. Think of it this way, you should always dress to impress! Cheers to the fabulously fashionable New Year’s introverts.
