A clear sign that WeHo has established itself as a fashionable place to be, the chic and trendy ARCADE Boutique threw their star-studded 2nd Annual Autumn Party, featuring an exclusive Spring-Summer 2012 show by fashion designer Yigal Azrouël. The event sold out, but The Fur Insider was fortunate enough to be there!
A feather in West Hollywood’s fashion cap, celebrity hot spot ARCADE Boutique epitomizes the cool, elegant and chic vibe for which West Hollywood has come to be known and loved. A fixture in the community, ARCADE brings in the fashionable and young Hollywood set looking for something different, something superb and something stylish; all with that quintessential “Euro-fornian” flair.
ARCADE was opened in 2008 by former stylist Rochelle Gores Fredston. A philanthropic and stylish woman herself, Rochelle donates her time and money to various causes and charities throughout the city. Rochelle flawlessly combined fashion and celebrity giving, throwing an uber-chic event on the rooftop of swanky London West Hollywood. Are we sensing a trend here? The highly anticipated fundraiser benefited the Children’s Institute, Inc. (CII), which fights to save children of abuse throughout the Los Angeles area.
A smart, strategic alliance with ”it” designer Yigal Azrouël drew celebs and editors from Los Angeles and New York to view the collection’s dramatic drapings and polished glamour. Unexpected, well placed peek-a-boo slits, and structured but feminine tailoring seen in suite ensembles and hemlines, provided something for every modesty level, and received smiles of approval and resounding applause.
Yigal’s attention to fine detailing and clean lines are a signature for the designer and presented a hopeful and refreshing look into what we can expect to see this coming summer.
By all accounts, the soiree was a huge success, leaving party goers feeling good about doing good. Mission accomplished and definitely a very strong affiliation for the City of West Hollywood. Not a guaranteed affiliation if the proposed fur ban passes – which ARCADE Boutique, a retailer who openly sells and promotes fur clothing, is very vocally and staunchly opposed to. In fact, an insider at the fashionable boutique has confirmed that they will be moving this event out of West Hollywood should the ban go through. Just one example of the type of revenue at stake for West Hollywood should they choose to ignore their fashion retailers.
Our special congratulations to ARCADE for one of the best fashion events we’ve attended on the left coast!
Is the “symbolism” that this ban is built on really worth it? Things That Make People Go…Hmmm!
