Don’t think that men are exempt from this particular trend; designers are steadily introducing longhair furs into their menswear repertoire too. For the time being, linings and trims are leading the trend, but from what we’ve heard, a few more jackets are going to be making the rounds in upcoming collections.

Some designers are even sampling retro reference as inspiration; from Denise Poiret’s famous fur skirt, to our beloved furry Star Wars’ Chewbacca, only far more fashionable, the references are there! From super sleek to ‘Barbarian cool’, longhair furs are bringing so many new design options, creating volume and accentuating specific garment elements.

Let’s face it; longhair furs are undeniable fun and equally chic. From Mongolian lamb to Finn-raccoon to goat, the creative palette brings a plethora of choices for designers to play with. The concept of a single fur type for a simple garment is a thing of the past. As fur technology gets more advanced and sophisticated, all of the design rules go out the door.
